Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. Many of us bought our beloved “pets” at pet shops, had guinea pigs, and kept beautiful birds in cages. We wore wool and silk, ate McDonald’s burgers, and fished. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. Putting it this way All animal cruelty is a concern because it is wrong to inflict suffering on any living creature. Intentional cruelty is a concern because it is a sign of emotional distress and often shows that a person can either have already been a victim of violence or might be raised to be committing acts of violence.
